The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD)-New Jersey promotes the prevention and treatment of, and recovery from, alcoholism and drug addiction through advocacy and education. We support the recovery of alcoholics, drug addicted individuals and their families and work to reduce the stigma surrounding the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction. The agency formulates public policy initiatives and advocates for legislation and regulations that are in keeping with a public health approach to the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction. In our public information efforts, we underscore the fact that alcoholism and drug addiction are treatable and preventable illnesses. Behavioral Health & Substance Abuse Care Coordinators
We do not currently have any vacancies. The Care Coordinator provides assessments, patient placement, case management and cross systems coordination for WFNJ recipients whose substance abuse or mental health disorders pose a barrier to participation in work activities. Requires a Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field. LPC/LCSW required or documented evidence that this license will be obtained within six months. LCADC strongly preferred. At least two years of experience working with this population is required. Candidates must have extensive applied knowledge of the DSM and the ASAM-PPC-2R. EOE M/F/D/V

Volunteers and Internships
Community Organizing/Advocacy/Outreach | We are looking for an intern/volunteer interested in policy and advocacy to work on a voter registration initiative. We do a tremendous amount of work in policy and advocacy for prevention, treatment and recovery from addiction. We are looking to build up our constituency and strengthen our community organizing and outreach efforts. Start and end dates are flexible, but the position can begin immediately. The volunteer/intern must make a commitment of at least 3–4 months.
