Policy Agenda

Each year NCADD—NJ adopts a policy agenda, which reflects both the priorities of the organization and the political and economic climate of New Jersey. NCADD—NJ’s policy agenda is developed to preserve and advance the mission of the organization by pursuing initiatives that underscore the fact that alcoholism and drug addiction are treatable and preventable illnesses.

Treating Addiction as a Health Issue:

NCADD-NJ believes that addressing addiction as a health issue can be the beginning of anyone’s Road to Recovery, regardless of their circumstances or health insurance status. Once an individual is on the Road to Recovery, there are many obstacles.  The goal is to support legislation that will help remove some of these common barriers and establish environments in which recovery can thrive.
